2nd EcoQUIP+ Webinar – Innovation Procurement in Action

On 7th July 2020, the second webinar in the series ‘Innovation Procurement in Practice for the Healthcare Sector’ took place.

This webinar, entitled “Innovation Procurement in Action”, focused on how innovation procurement operates on the ground and looked at the Forward Commitment Procurement methodology as a practical and proven tool to deliver better outcomes for hospitals and patients. The webinar was moderated by Senior Consultant and EcoQUIP+ Coordinator Hayley Welsh and was delivered by Gaynor Whyles, director at JERA Consulting, EcoQUIP+ consortium member and expert practitioner, who used practical case studies to show the effectiveness of innovation procurement.

The COVID-19 crisis highlights to us how innovation is driven by necessity. The innovation procurement process translates the need into a credible demand to which suppliers can respond and deliver innovative solutions. Innovation procurement, therefore, plays a key role in provoking and enabling demand-led supplier innovation in a timely and resource-efficient way. It is an effective means to bridge the gap between the customer’s willingness to buy a viable and affordable solution, and the supplier’s preparedness to invest in innovative solutions to meet their demand.

On 6th August 2020, the third webinar on “Stakeholder Engagement in Innovation Procurement”, will be held at 13:00 (CEST).  Sign up to our Newsletter if you would like to join.

Until then why not find out more about our webinar series or watch our video of the second webinar.
