Innovation Procurement in action: Launch of the EcoQUIP+ Final Case Study based Report

Outcomes of innovation procurement projects from hospitals across Europe

EcoQUIP+ has sought to address common challenges faced by healthcare institutions across Europe by adopting good practice innovation and sustainable procurement to demonstrate that the strategic use of procurement can improve the efficiency, quality and sustainability of healthcare.

In this concluding event, we will launch the project’s final publication and explore six real-world case stories, their achievements, challenges and share take-home messages from the project teams. The cases from across Europe explore challenges across the spectrum of healthcare operations, from transforming the outpatient experience, environmentally sustainable renovation of hospital wards, transforming waste management to support net zero and zero waste ambitions, finding solutions to progressively move towards zero-waste operating theatres, implementing smart emergency response systems, and personalising orthopaedic surgical processes. These case studies provide concrete examples of how innovation procurement can drive positive change.

The case presentations aim to inspire and inform, offering valuable lessons and actionable insights for healthcare professionals, procurement specialists, and healthcare managers.

A subsequent panel discussion will delve into the challenges and opportunities of collaborative innovation procurement and scaling of good ideas and innovative solutions in healthcare.
