EcoQUIP+ Presentation at EHMA 2021 Conference

EcoQUIP+ attends EHMA 2021 Annual Conference

The EcoQUIP+ project participated in the EHMA 2021 Annual Conference, hosted by the European Health Management Association, one of the project partners. EcoQUIP+ submitted an abstract titled The role of procurement in driving innovation and delivering better healthcare outcomes, authored by Ms Gaynor Whyles, JERA Consulting, that was selected for a poster presentation. The project was also present with an information booth, where conference attendees could learn more about the EcoQUIP+ procurement projects and the ongoing project activities.

The EHMA 2021 Annual Conference took place digitally from 15 to 17 September 2021 under the theme Health management: managing the present and shaping the future. The conference brought together over 400 representatives of the healthcare ecosystem to discuss some of the most difficult problems in leading and managing the health services of tomorrow.

Earlier this year, EcoQUIP+ submitted an abstract for consideration, which was evaluated alongside over 200 other submissions by an independent expert panel and selected for a poster presentation. The poster was presented during a dedicated poster pitching session under the sub-theme Governance and leadership.

“As part of our role in facilitating innovation in healthcare, we are always exploring options and opportunities to both support and promote collaboration and peer learning.  The opportunity to present our poster at the EHMA 2021 Annual Conference gave us a platform to reach out to people across Europe, working in a host of different roles within the healthcare sector, to highlight the potential within the procurement process to drive innovation in the supply chain and to demonstrate the benefits of collaboration to achieve better healthcare outcomes.” Hayley Welsh, Optimat Ltd, EcoQUIP+ Project Coordinator

The poster provides an insight into how healthcare procurement can stimulate innovation, unlocking the considerable creativity and innovation potential of suppliers. The poster also outlines how healthcare providers can collaborate to demonstrate that there is a wider market demand, thereby encouraging potential suppliers to invest in developing innovative solutions. Joint Statements of Demand, the EcoQUIP+ Collaborative Buyers Forum and the EcoQUIP+ webinars for healthcare managers were featured and promoted as vehicles for collaboration among healthcare providers.

You can read the EcoQUIP+ abstract on page 99 of the EHMA 2021 Abstract Book.
